Meet the Nugget

We went to the doctor this week for our 12 week exam and to make sure things were progressing normally with the Nugget, our nickname for the baby. For the record we are not going to find out if it's a boy or girl so the Nugget it is.

In the picture you can see the head on the right and a pretty big hand in the middle of the image. We were able to see very tiny fingers and the hands waving. No one tells you that you must drink 32 ounces of water one hour before the 12 week ultrasound, which helps with visibility. During the ultrasound the technician presses on your abdomen and bladder until the images of the baby are in the correct pose (profile images). After about 45 minutes of being poked I was ready to spring a leak. I have never been so eager to get to a bathroom, but was very excited to see the photos. We'll find out next week if we should consider CVS or an Amniocentesis.
