He's 5 Months Old

Yesterday marked 5 months for Charlie. He's a very happy baby. On average he sleeps 11-12 hours straight each night. He's eating 6 ounces of formula at a sitting and still dabbling at eating cereal and vegetables; although not a big fan of them.


His fingers are a new found discovery. They are either in his mouth or he's moving them around a lot.
He's also recently found his tongue. He loves sticking out his tongue and enjoys laughing and scrunching up his nose, that's definitely new for him too.

Charlie is being a good sport about having his photo taken. He's my baby model. Some of you know I'm taking a photography class so each week my homework is likely to include photos of Charlie. Here are a few photos from this week...

He's Got a Grip on It

Now that Charlie is 4 months old we are starting to see that he's developing a grip and suspect he may be left handed. He can now hold toys, shake rattles, make fists and use them to pound (especially on my shoulder when he's tired and fighting sleep).

Story Time

Charlie really enjoys books. Is this to be expected from the son of a teacher? He's so little but he is definitely engaged when he we read him books. It's almost as if he knows what we are reading to him. He even attempts to want to turn the pages.

Mmmm... Peas Please

Charlie is trying to understand what to do with the food we put in his mouth. He's open to us giving him food but still is unsure of what to do with the stuff in his mouth. I guess it all takes time.

4 Month Doctor's Visit

Although Charlie won't be four months until the 24th he went to the doctor yesterday for his four month visit. He's a whopping 15 pounds, 9 ounces and is now 25-1/2 inches long, which puts him in the 75th percentile. This visit came with three immunizations, one oral, which he didn't seem to mind, and two shots, one in each thigh. He doesn't really care for the shots and I'm not a fan of watching them.

Charlie was given the thumbs up to eat big boy food so he we gave him a taste of cereal mixed with formula. We'll be starting him on veggies this week. Mmmmmmmmmmm!

Happy Valentine's Day

Charlie experienced a balloon for the first time, was very curious and seemed to like it. Here are a few photos of his little adventure.

My Super Bowl MVP - Charlie

Charlie is such a good sleeper. He sleeps through the night about five times per week. The other nights he usually wakes up about 3:00 am to have a snack. His bedtime routine includes getting a bath and then a bottle before bed. But since we don't bath him every night, the other nights we talk or read to him and then give him a bottle and he goes to bed. I would say that 99% of the time he goes to bed he is awake, we don't rock him to sleep. He's independent and likes to fall sleep while watching his mobile. That little thing keeps him entertained. He just loves it.

My Mom-Mobile!

We went car shopping this weekend... ok, we've been car shopping alot the last few months. Finally we've decided on one and I have my new vehicle, and it's not a minivan, it's a Volkswagen Touareg 2.

Three Months Old

Yesterday we took Charlie to the photographer for his three month photos. We have yet to receive the link to share so in the meantime here are a couple of photos of us hanging out at home.

Charlie's Christening

Charlie's Christening was this Sunday at Holy Family in Chicago. Joe & Kim Bujak were the God Parents.

He's Growing So Quickly
