At the hospital

I've been at the hospital since Thursday at 5pm. As of about Noon on Friday only dilated about 5cm. Doctor estimates another 14+ hours of labor. Baby should be here this weekend. Stay tuned.

Also, for those that haven't figured it out we are not having a c-section today as the baby flipped and is no longer breech.

Jason after his surgery feeling no pain (he can't even wiggle his toes)

We spent the entire day at Northwestern Hospital, again. We started with my doctor's appointment at 8am where we learned the Nugget flipped. This means that my c-section for this Friday was cancelled by the doctor. They don't do elective c-sections. The really good news was that I could go with Jason to his surgery today at 10am where he had his Achilles fixed.

For those that don't know where the Achilles is, the Achilles is the thing that connects the ankle and the calf, shown in white in the image. This area completely split in half and the two ends curled up. The doctor had to pull the ends back straight and sew them back together. Jason is unable to drive for a minimum of two weeks and will take up to a few months to get close to normal. We were joking that I may be driving myself to the hospital when the baby arrives.

Bed Rest

We spent the weekend home on "bed rest" but admit I justified getting out for about an hour for a manicure/pedicure. For me, that's relaxing. I'm going to bed early tonight-- or at least try to fall asleep early since I have a doctor appointment at 8am and Jason needs to arrive for surgery at 10am. Our hope and goal is that I can go to the surgery with him and that my blood pressure won't be high when I'm checked. Otherwise, we risk potentially both being in surgery tomorrow. Wish us luck!
